Journal entry 1 - The arrival

Next Mission2, leave citydome alive: pending!

After some minor discusions a dwarf leader shows us to our camp. Its robust but its do able. Several people come to our camp, decendands of vikings whom fled their homeland in hopes of finding a better place.

While they know little of our traditions they seek contact with their own people, to find their identity.

A fire is made and our fallen warriors are remembered. Even other people from the city showed up and together we started a great feast.

there was a small incident however one of our newly associates was quick to act.

I managed to get better acquainted with one of our hosts, Michelle , after spending an interesting night at the library. If the previous day was anything to go by, the next day was going to be a quite the challenge, and it appears it was. We were "invited" to join an annual festival they hold in honour to their city. Our team appeared to be met with loud enthusiasm as the first of our challenges was one that I as a viking am familiar with, a boat race. Although we gave the other teams quite the opposition the following challenge was not to our liking. Jumping poles set in water. Many of our team met with a cold and wet welcome to the new city.

The next part of the race began. We had to find the last key in the maze to open the door at the end so we could catch up with the rest. However it didnt go so wel at first. Many dead ends and markings made the maze a trial of endurence and patience. eventually The key was found but a joke raised the suspicions on a member of our group.

The next phase was getting a mining cart on its tracks so we could "race" it towards the other end of the city. With some wits and brawn we manage to get it ready and off we went. untill we were ambushed. The cart was thrown of its tracks and the group had to fight for their lives.

After some time guardsa rrived and everything seemed ok for now.

Many things have happens since my last entry. Kennah knows that my time has been occupied with a number of things. On a personal note, i have grown fond of Michelle. She is quite the intelligent woman. Thrakhar would mostlikly joke that i find her intimidating but thats not the case.

However there are more serious things at hand at present time. Jake our guide during the games has reveal himself to be an enemy of our party and the city we reside in. During the trial I studied him on the stand. I quickly began putting the pieces of the puzzle together. Something was wrong. As I asked permission, that is required here, to "confront" Jake my suspicions where grounded and confirmed. I called for the heads of the city and our diplomat Gunnar. I explained my actions and the facts. A plan was put together in order to find out what really is at the caves where Jake was to be exiled.

Following a group of icecollectors we entered the ancient caves where the remains of an old village of days long gone by is 'frozen in time'. Jake's allies will be waiting and we will confront them, by By the flames of the burning godess we shall not stop nor backdown. For the future of all children we can not fail.

- Friendship with Malcolm has deteriorated further after some improvement was booked.
- Friendship with thrakhar is slightly dented. I must not let my position in Midgard overcome our friendship. He is equal and should be treated not as a soldier but as a friend.

Inside the icecave we found a lost village. With some hidden creatures and treasures. We fought the creatures and what i believe to be a lackey of 'ze icemage'.

After a nights rest inside the library we were "rescued" by the mines we escorted on our way here. On our way back we encountered some of the other "natives" of this area.
